He was full of giggles and mischief, and we had a really beautiful day for some shots outside too.

I had a lot of fun photographing Amelie, she is constantly smiling!

which makes it even easier to get gorgeous little photos of her!

we had a lot of fun walking in the park, the sun was shining and it was gorgeous!

Then... just as we finished, a lot of rain, made it just in time I think

We had a little bit of a costume change when we got back home,

into a delightful little heart dress, whic wanted to steal,

mum even had a little turn and snapped a few of me too!

Who knew it would be so much fun!!!

He was a little poorly, and didnt want to sleep very much, but we had a lot of fun!

Josh was really fun to work with, I should hire him as an assistant,

Northern Ireland is gorgeous!

I am loving it over here, the people are awesome, the beer is cold.

I have been doing some work since I got here, and some playing too.

The first family I met and photographed are the Fox family.

I worked with Charlotte back in York. She has an Elvis fascination and is lovely...

Lovely Little Finds

These finds got me so excited this is my 3rd,

yep 3rd, attempt at this post,

I got so excited about what I was typing that I accidently deleted it by mistake,

and had to start all over, so this time, I'm being careful...

I was at the local charity store and we found these...

Aren't they awesome?! I am actually in LOVE with them,

I love cameras and I love vintage,

So you can imagine me when I found these!

And, in the same store,

I came across these on the way out....

I love paintings, and they are so colourful and adorable.

The backgrounds remind me of a Julie Verhoeven,

who's work is beautiful!

Today, I met up with Emily and Katy, from the Etsy UK meet group on Flickr.

We a rather LARGE hot chocolate, and a catch up full of giggles.

Me and Keith had planned to go to the Botanical Gardens the rest of the day,

take some photographs and have a little wander.

But, as our luck runs.... the gardens were shut when we got there, winter hours and all...

However, I did get a gorgeous suprise,

I got these packages all pretty wrapped and tagged.

Just for me...

Because I am speacial!

And look at what they were..........

HOW GORGEOUS!!!

I absoloutley adored Belle&Boo art work,

I have a number of prints already on my walls,

and these seasons are just beautiful,

and ALREADY have a place in my house,

right as you come in, so everyone will see them!

He was going to buy me summer... and couldn't just buy one,

So I got ALL four!

Perfect!

I did however manage to take some photographs this evening,

I was looking at old and new techniques,

I managed to pick up a few things,

This is as far as I managed tonight....

I think its pretty sweet, expect to see a little more in the future.

1. My favourite movie is Amelie. The colours are gorgeous, and the soundtrack helps me work.

2. The beach is where I go to think, no matter the weather.

3. Ranunculus flowers are my favourite.

4. I got my first camera when I was 13. and through the view finder is my newest obsession.

5. I am scared of rabbits, the fluffy little pet kind. Terrified.

6. Me and my best friend have been friends since we were 2 years old. Thats 23 years.

7. The car wash is my favourite place in the world, Yep.. I said car wash....

8. I have a BA in Fashion. I studied for 3 years at the School of Textiles in the Scottish Borders

9. My birthday is New Years Day, people party so hard they forget, including my family.

10. I have never broken a bone, yet, touch wood...

11. When I was a child, I watched adverts. My mum used to record them on tv and I would watch them all over and over. Now most of my itunes, are advert songs. obsessed.

12. I have a tea addiction. I drink around 15 cups a day. and it has to be Tetley. If its not, I have my own Tetley teabag in my purse. I never leave without one.

13. If I work, it has to be barefoot, otherwise I cant concentrate properly, I get strange looks when I take my shoes and socks off in public, to take a photo.

14. Green is my all time favourite colour, and always has been since I was little.

15. I have a LOT of shoes. over 100 pairs. I find it hard to get shoes in my size, a UK 3, Its a task and a half.

16. I am alleric to tomatoes and Persil washing powder.

A little trip

Me and possible Mr Rabbit

may be having a little trip to Northern Ireland, not far from Belfast.

I know a lot of ladies who are married to soldiers, they are mostly due to go to Afghanistan at the end of march, so before they go, I will be doing some family portraits.

I have never been to Northern Ireland before and I am quite excited to see some of the sights, the museums, the galleries and of course the bars!

But, if your near Belfast and would like to book some portraits, just let me know, I will be visitng for roughly 8 days,

Wonderful Weekends

This weekend we had a visitor, Lily-mae with her mum and dad,

who we haven't seen in so long, and miss LOTS!!!

We used to be neighbours when we lived on the army camp,

and of couse went our seperate ways....

But as a suprise weekend the boys booked for them to come over and visit!!

And we had a lovely time, we walked around Edinburgh,

had some food, went to a few little shops, and had a lot of fun. Lily-mae has grown up so much since I last seen her, and she can talk now, its very strange!

As usual, my camera was glued to my face and I got a lot of moments captured...

We had to say goodbye earlier today, and I miss them already,

But I have some work set up and will be visitng them in Northern Ireland very soon!

Thank you for all the kind messages and comments on the last post,
I had a really fun time with my first family portrait,

and they made me feel really welcome!

Not only did they LOVE the prints, I ran into them today and they had been getting some images framed, it totally made my day!

infact my week!

I spent most of this week getting my local business sorted,

Etsy for me is fantastic, and I have an awesome time there with everyone,

but it doesnt get me much local work.

At least I think so!

Today was my first EVER family session...

7 children, who were perfect to work with for my first job!

not to mention absoloutley adorable!

So getting the images I was after was easier than I thought it was going to be....

and the parents made me feel comfortable too...

Little Amy wasn't very sure about me, and made a run for it everytime I pointed the camera in her direction! But the shots I did get of her, I think are stunning!

If you cant tell, I had a LOT of fun!

We had a lovely time in LONDON!

It was really cold, as expected, and I layered up, not as much as Prague, but enough!

We met some family, had some lovely russian food, and wine, it was really fun,

AND I went to my favourite shop in the WORLD!

It tiny and full of shoes and I was there for at least an hour!

It was pure heaven!! I will be going back soon :)

We also had a wander through Soho, and with the chinese new year it looked gorgeous with rows and rows of lanterns, there was a chinese dragon going up and down all the stores and people were hanging their lettuce outside their windows, it was beautiful:

Carnaby street has some of the best little handmade and vintage shops, there was some gorgeous sights to be had there, and I didnt want to leave, but it was so cold I couldnt press my shutter button on my camera, so we stopped (every few hours) for a hot chocolate, and some yummy yummy cakes :)

I have some lovely new colourful things coming soon, hope you had a lovely weekend too!

There was the first meet yesterday!

A few of us met in a bar in Edinburgh, had some drinks and some food, and general chit chat and sharing of ideas and things....

The perfect week

Spending 5 days in Prague, with Mr Rabbit, has been perfect. Yep. Perfect.

We had the best time!

I wrapped up like a total dork,

whilst trying very hard to eat pizza with my gloves on because my fingers were so COLD!

We managed to visit a lot of things, The clock tower, the Castle, and all the little museums in between, we even (after an hour) managed to find.....

The John Lennon Wall!

it wasn't where it said it was on the map, but when we got there it was awesome, and full of the prettiest and inspirational quotes, was worth the lost hour :)

look at those colours!

I would love to go back and visit it some more, there was a lot of things we didn't get the time to do, so will have to get back sometime!

Sorry its not very long, I will be back soon with lots of fun things to share,

But, for now, I will leave you with me, dressed as a dork, armed with my camera in the beautiful city, Prague :)

My grandad was amazing,

he was was my best friend,

and the best man I have ever met in my life,

there wont be anyone quite like him ever....

it would be his birthday really soon, so this year I decided to do something a little different,

He was in the navy, and used to tell me all his war stories and how he was shot trying to save children, (yeah on a boat) I used to listen to his stories for hours,

He wasnt very old, and one day got really ill,

He went to hospital, and passed away,

before I could say goodbye, but..

I love you, was the last thing we said,

So for his birthday, I got an anchor tattoo on my wrist,

He was my anchor,

I miss him every minute of every day, but now, he is always here,

Ok, Ok I know I havent posted in a really long time, a month or 2, but I have been so busy with the new house!! Its looking rather cosy if I do say so myself!! we wont be in, in time for halloween, but.... we will be for christmas!!!! so I will be posting all my goodies and decorations to show you, I cant wait to start hanging the mistletoe :)

remember the kitchen I took a hammer to and ripped out? well its finished!! and painted,

Rosie is now HAMISH, yep, Rosie is a boy.... so we had to change his name, I dont know how we didnt notice earlier!

ROSIE!!

isnt she a sweetie?

Rosie is our brand new kitten!

another kitten I hear you say? well yes this is cat number 3, but for good reason,

we have Mr Hobbes who is 15 years old and when we got little Poppy she began to bully Mr Hobbes, and this made him sad, after a few visits at the vets to see what we could do.... getting a playmate for Poppy was the best idea, so we got Rosie :)

She was a stray on a farm and was one of 12.... and it took us 2 hours to get her out of hiding and into the saftey and warmth of our home,

and isnt she stunning?

she gets on really well with Poppy and Mr Hobbes gets left in peace and hasnt purred so much for ages!

also to share:

Our old kitchen, this monster was already fitted when we moved in, black and brown isn't my cup of tea, and isn't very bright either, and it just didnt look nice at all.....

So I started to demolish it! yep on my own!!! :)

someone had been ever so clever and used 1 nail and SUPERGLUE to fix the cupboards to the walls, superglue?! oh dear...

we have a new kitchen on its way and its going to look beautiful, or at least we hope so!

i will be sharing a photo very very soon...

now where did my sledge hammer go?......

Its always fun, if you have a fun helper!!

Isnt she sweet? she was helping to rip the paper right off the wall!!

so it took me half the time, I'm quickly thinking of other jobs I can get her to do, I can pay her in tuna :)

ALSO!! ALSO!!

I also got to use a hammer!!

yep indeed..... a sledge hammer, although I was meant to be using it with a little tool, not on its own to smash tiles from walls, I made a few holes.... whooops

But I did a good job? I think so anyways, the tiles are gone, and that was the aim....

we're putting a whole new kitchen in, its going to be country and white, and sky blue and quirky, well, i am hoping so anyways,

but decorating is going swimmingly well, the place is shaping up to be a home,

I'VE MISSED YOU!!

2 months :
with no internet.... no laptop... and no fridge.. which means no contact with the world and stale milk in my tea... its not been the best of times!
moving home and living inbetween 2, that are 200 miles apart is a hard task.

and half our lives in one focus estate

and we were on our travels...
we bought our house a few months ago and with a bit of a struggle we managed to get the keys just in time for the holidays,

the whole place is adorable, it has random little windows in the walls that lead into huge cupboards, there are tiny little cupboards all over that look just like something out of Alice in Wonderland.

It's going to take a while to get things in the exact place where they

will look just perfect,and there is countless boxes with our favourite things in them all over the house,

So this week I will be giving you sneaky peaks of what the place looks like,

I havent posted properly in a little while,

I'm very sorry, but I do have reason.

Having moved a long way to be with my husband,

who I completly adore...

I left behind my family and not to mention my amazing friends,

I couldn't ask for better ones...

I never get to visit them half as much as I would like,

and I miss them all a lot, and being here in this new town has shown me just how much....

Living on camp in an army barracks is one of the hardest experiences I have ever had, its been harder than watching my husband get on the plane to Iraq, the fact that I was getting to spend a LOT of time with my husband is the reason I have managed here so long,

So you move here, you make friends, you miss your husband and you spill your emotions to people who you think are your friends, then you find one day, the people you adopted as your friends and family away from home... well.... aren't...

It takes a lot to trust people, and let them into your lives, its heart breaking when they throw it right back in your face, I dont understand the way the world works right now,

So.. todays thought, appreciate the friends you have, and the ones you will have one day,

and hope that they appreciate you as much xox

During the weekend we visited our new, soon to be family home :)

this is it from the side, we dont own the bottom window... but the rest is ours

I still love it... which is good!

We have a utility room which I am sure I've mentioned about 3 or 4 times... possible a few hundred times more,

This is its current state:

this is one end of our new utility room,

which half of will be sure to become my new sewing room,

it might be a little small, but at least i will have one...

behind the rather large chunk of wood is the cutest quiantest little window ever! it looks out onto the stairs where is another huge window and i can see the world pass by...

Now... what colour to paint? what to put where and do i keep the rather handy little sink?

so many decisions have yet to be made...

feet week... final day

and you know my love for making a a good cake

unfortunately my photoshop skills aren't as great as my baking skills....

Yesterday we had a wedding,

a friend of mine and her now husband met last year during the Edinburgh tattoo which they were both taking part,

he is in the army and she is a highland dancer, she was visitng with her dance school from New Zeland for 3 weeks,

they met,

fell in love,

and she never went home.....

very very romantic!!

Then in the morning, once I removed my nest hair,

I get up, put my comfortable clothes on, switch on etsy, and my wonderful husband makes the best little breakfast ever.... and all with a cuppa...

he slices my eggs up just perfect,

I love bank holiday mornings with him,

Things have been manic this week, more than normal

my husbands work demands that we drop things in order to say goodbye to staff..

this week was the RSM's goodbye day.. and my only worry was...

what shoes to wear?!

I had a lemon dress... and these we're my 3 options....

I eventually went with the pink ones, since they match my previously painted pink toes,

They looked lovely, and matched beautifully.. and when we got there... it was dark!!

HA HA.. dear oh dear...

My petticoat.....

one of my favorite pieces of clothing,

I would wear it every day if work would let me.....

and my red polka shoes, that my husband bought me for my birthday,

I love red, and they have sparkly diamond mushrooms on them too!

And who doesn't love polka dots??

They make me feel like a proper girl, which you need when you live on an army barracks!

I loooooove my shoes.. love them love them love them!

Work. I do a lot of it, I work a lot of hours, all week.... and then some more

So I have to have comfortable shoes, and these are perfect!! They're clarks originals and I bought them just for work, and the little guys sure do work hard....

I love my shoes, they make me very happy, more happy than chocolate, but I think its a joint first between them and shoes..... I just couldn't decide......

These guys have a whole lotta life left in them, I might even spruce them up a bit and paint them when they start to look a little needy..... so about now?

I love painting my toes, it reminds me of when I was a little girl, and my mum used to paint them for me, and pink has got to be the best toe colour!

My toe nail painting skills are almost as good as my fake tanning skills.....

My green polka dot jammies are my favourite in the world, and the quilt is also a favourite too....

Its so cosy and just feels like home,

It was a moving in gift when we got married, and I love it!

Fake tan:

1. shouldn't be used unless your a professional, which I am not

2. shouldnt' be used on feet, that will sweat from dancing,

this happens:

4 days later and my feet are still fake tanned, stripey, like a tiger,

I dont think I will ever use it again.....

In spent a lot of time in the garden yesterday, not gardening like I said i was going to,

But sewing this little rabbit.....

And with a new house, and the start of the summer, I thought I would start some new weekly features, and maybe a portrait day,

so as of tomorrow, it will be 'feet week'

we were up and half way before the birds were even awake I think, we went to sort the last of the paper work on the old house, so the lovely couple that bought it could move in as soon as possible, so on our trip we decided to have a look at what else is around and up for sale,

and to be honest it wasnt a lot, everything seems really small and dinky, and no storage space what-so-ever, which with us is very vital, so with a little time to spare we thought we'd have a quick look at one, and guess what?!

WE BOUGHT IT!!

we got there and it was absoloutely stunning, spacious, a lot of storage and a utility room!!

which little Poppy will love, she loves playing in the dryer all the time, and falls asleep!!

So we went to give away one house and came home with another, Its so gorgeous and I cant wait to move in, and take pictures for everyone to see, which brings me to Dusty,

Dusty was a pony that was treated badly by a farm owner a long time ago, a neighbour of my father in laws rescued him and brought him to stay on her farm,

isn't he beautiful?! I visit him every time I'm around and he never fails to bring a smile to my face :)

So we had a pretty wonderful weekend,

its a beautiful day!! uh huh!!

The summer is my most favourite time of year, ever!!

Don't you just feel lovely waking up in the morning with the sun coming in your window?

I think it sets you up for the day and makes people a lot happier and a lot nicer to each other, and generally people smile more and have fun........ like the week before christmas... but without presents and sun in its place!!

As i type this update I am sitting in my garden, (as most of you know) its an army garden, the grass is more a cluster of weeds, but hey... i have one! there are a ton of wasps, so i have to look out my citronella candles for the evenings,

I have my radio on surround sound, all my windows and doors open and a lovely cuppa on my table :)

In my favourite cup too!

And can I ever go a post without an attempt at an artistic photo?

I have a lotta love for my garden brolly on my table, it makes sure I can see my screen and I dont burn my delicate skin,

Now I am in the mood for a BBQ.....

who wants a sausage??

P.s my flying love letter is in the shop....... might do some more, but not any time soon :D

start of the summer!!!!!

Today was beautiful!!!

The sun was shining,

the birds were singing,

we got the paper work done for the house,

and I wore a dress!

I love this dress, and the cardigan is one of my absoloute favourites,

I might have to buy another one and store it,

just incase my husband accidently shrinks it in the wash like a lot of my other things,

Its not a happy time when that happens....

but as I said, today we signed the house over, It was a good time, I'll miss my house, but i cant wait to get a new one and make it all pretty!

I stopped the car to take some nice pictures of the fields, the sky was so blue and lovely, i even got stung by nettles just to get to the walls!

I will be listing some of the lovlies i took this afternoon for you all to have a peek at :)

I also had a little project to do for work, all the kids eat the crayons (yep i said eat)

and there is a little box of them that sits in a corner, so my project was.... to make new ones!!

I melted all the pretty colours, in a good pan which i ruined :( and husband wasnt happy, and silly me used a plastic spoon too, which metled too....

but i melted them all and put them into rubber ice trays, and they look great!

and they work!

i might have to make some for the shop too, they would look great in kids pencil cases,

and i hope they're more fun that regular crayons, i just hope they dont eat them!

i have loads more photo's to get on here and share with you, but they will have to wait for another day...

Ever so sorry for the lack of posting and listing, things have been manic here lately!!

We sold our rather beautiful little house in the Scottish Borders,

and are on the hunt for the 'family home'......

We have been driving A LOT! and been looking at houses left right and centre,

so whilst in the car i did this little embroidery cross stitch number...

When my husband was in Iraq he wrote me as often as he could, sometimes I didnt hear from him for 2 or 3 weeks at a time, sometimes it was longer...

He used to say his letters were flying over to me, and I always visioned them having little wings and my mail flapping over to see me,

I might list this one in the store on the next update over the next few days, I plan to do a few more, theyre not really cross stitch, more embroidred, but i like the look, its currently on the same wall as my rabbit I did earlier in the month,

I'll be back soon with an update and some more good news hopefully,

Hey everyone!

my apologies i havent updated in a few days, i have been working overtime at work and haven't been around long enough to get logged on to my computer, or even stop for a cup of tea...

But on my travels to and from work and the weekly shopping, i spotted this...

Ok, so when i married my husband, we had to make a few compromises, living wise,

we had the most beautifully cosy quaint flat in the scottish borders,

it was so quirky and fitted our style wonderfully,

but.......

if we wanted to live together as close to 24/7 that the army would let us,

I had to move, 200 miles,

we now live in an ex-council style house, which its walls are paper thin,

and cant even hold up a little shelf, the rooms are very small and as its a new build there is no storage at all or anywhere to put some either,

and i know i shouldnt grumble after all i am getting to spend a lot of time with my darling, but it means there not an awful lotta room for my pretty things.......or indeed a baby if that happens while we live here

so i often have to clear out things or give them away to a thrift store,

so here is my new little idea!!

I had a bit of a rummage in my button tin and a few other wonderful places, and i have some little treats to give away,

Lastnight I had my first try of cross stitching, which turned out to be a little more like embroidery, but, I had the best fun, and ended up with this little guy:

Isnt he cute? With his little heart,

I have him hanging in my hallway, we had this bare spot, above the light switch,

but now we have a little rabbit!

I might even make a few others and have a happy little cluster in my hall, make me smile on my way downstairs in the mornings :D

lovely tea....and blue skies

Today is tea day.......

well every day is my tea day, but this particular day we are going to Bettys for tea!

The sun was beautiful this morning, and it continued into the afternoon, so linen trousers and my best sailor look was a must!

i wore my comfiest sandles too, which i have had for years and know for certain on a busy shopping day they are gonna burst on me!

We finally got to our table in Bettys and ordered, and i had the most amazing

organic vanilla and hot chocolate ice-cream sunday, it was on the cutest little paper lace doiley,

and it was the most gorgeous ice-cream i have ever tasted in my life!

they also had a whole counter of the most amazing cakes and pastries in the entire universe, chocolate swiss, jam scones, orange cheesecake......... i wanted to order every single one!!

just look how wonderful they look in their little rows!

The whole day was lovely, we did a spot of shopping and i got a new little half mug, which i will be sharing later, and a few little bits and pieces,

I went on a bit of a wander and took some beautiful pictures to add to the store, i will be doing an update soon, i will announce it soon,

we had a lovely day and i couldnt have had a yummier cup of tea..... or ice-cream!!

Again today I havent been feeling my best but when I woke and looked out my window,

we had a bit of a suprise......

yep the entire place is covered in snow, SNOW, in march? i find it strange, but we went out and threw a few snowballs!! Mr Hobbes and Poppy had a go too,

but i dont think they liked it very much,

Poppy much prefers to be tucked up in bed with me :D

other than sleeping today (which isnt making me feel better) nor is chicken soup, my darling husband decided to book us a table at Bettys!!

what is Bettys i hear you ask! it is the most gorgeous tea rooms in the entire world, and if you can in for a cuppa..... your lucky! there is always a giant que formed all the way outside,

I am most excited about tea!! And cannot wait to have cakes (which havent been made by me) brought to my table in a cake stand with cream, yum yum, i am very excitable right now!!

dont worry i shall have LOT of photo's as i dont think i'll manage to get there any other time, and i shall share my wonderful day!

super excitement on a tuesday!

I just wanted to come on and post a little excitement!!

I visited Florida for my honeymoon back in August and found a mall which had various stores in it that i loved, one of which was Anthropologie,

I bought a whole bundle of goodies when i was there and managed to squeeeze them into my case so I could bring them home, and i wish that i had bought more, i often look at the website and wish that the shopped to the UK so i could have lots of goodies....... and behold!!!

!!!!THEY DO!!!!

I couldn't be happier!! i have oooogled things online for the last 2 hours and cannot wait to buy something, i love the dress in the above photo, and think it might be a winner,

i want to buy everything!

good afternoon my lovelies!!

first off before i post, i would love to say thank you to everyone who emailed me after 2 days of not posting, to ask if everything was ok....

unforunately i havent been able to post the last week... actually i think its a little more, i caught a nasty little bug from work, and its had me in bed for pretty much most of the time i have been gone, i'm still not 100% today but i thought i should come and post and explain my where abouts.

for the few days i was at work, we had an easter bonnet parade with the little ones and they looked beautiful!

all the parents helped their little ones make bonnets and they paraded around the room,

but other than that me and my kitten have been laid in bed and my wonderful husband has looked after us, bringing me water and headache pills when i needed them

I will be back soon with a update for the shop and some wonderful goodies,

manic week of work....

Its ok, i am here, i am still alive and well, i have just been working my butt off!

the only 5 spare minutes i had I enjoyed with a cup of tea and my wonderful cat Mr Hobbes,

he just sits and has a little hug, its very nice... he is a big softie of an animal!

other than work the big news is... an earthquake! well more of a grumble, but its the biggest one here in the UK in 25 years, some poor man at the other end of the country had a chimney fall on him and it broke his pelvis! yikes!

It woke me but i thought it was the RAF flying over as usual, so went back to sleep thinking nothing of it.... ooops,

Anyways, my lovlies, thank you for coming to check my whereabouts, thank you for the emails, if i havent replied let me know... and i promise to :)

a long list of nothings

I spend a lot of time in my life making lists, lists for work, for shopping, for the weekend, what i need to do, what of it I've done, its like I have to do it, or i feel like i have or will forget something, they usually appear on my hand but this list is so long that i have written it on a sheet of A4 front and back! yikes!

So todays lists were really loooong, and didnt seem to get shorter at all, no matter how hard i seemed to work, my husband has gone away with work for a month, and I have a lot to do here while he has gone, move boxes, call estate agents, call banks, pick up children for work, drop others off, meetings, and in the middle of all that i have my studio to organise, i have a lot of ribbons, buttons and jars of little bits that need to go... i might even do a blog give away, it things i love but i have no space for any of it, so keep popping back, you never know when it might be!

but what i will be keeping and putting onto a garment, maybe a vest maybe a dress is this gorgeous collar...

I know the photo isnt too great, but over the next few days i'll post a photo of the finished one... let you see how it goes,

yep thats right! a shop update! well less of an update more of an opening really, I've promoting for a while and have finally got my printer to start making my prints...

so today i will be working on getting prints done, and packs...... little packs of collage things for those brilliant people who can scrapbook, i cannot, not that i havent tried, i just cant, it looks like when kids make things from the junk box at nursery,

there will be vintage packs, print paper packs, and random other things, if you have preferences just send me an email.

so to be short, but very very sweet, i must go and get the ball rolling on my store,

Hey everyone!

Have you all had a wonderful day? Me and my husband had decided a long time ago not to get each other anything, yep not even cards, but sometimes we make them, we dont like the whole hallmark thing on valentines.... instead.... I got my norplant implant removed!! and we will soon be starting our mini family :D

and i am fine! my darling held my hand and kept me calm until the nurse cut my arm... then i was on my own, because he felt queezy! which just made me laugh, he couldn't watch and had to sit with his head down.... poor thing!

We got a gorgeous quilt from a little local store on the way home, as a together gift... which i will share with you another time, but this photo i love... my husband made me breakfast this morning,

I could hear him pottering about in the kitchen, now i know he was looking for my letter cookie cutters! isnt it just sweet? he brought it with the yummiest cup of tea ever, he makes it just right,

we got a take away instead of cooking and have been chilling most of today, its been lovely,

....is skipping some beats today, i have a slightly nervous tummy, and to be honest I dont deal with nervousness or pressure a great lot.....

tomorrow is a day i'm not really looking forward to, not because its valentines day, because i do love valentines, and being extra smooshie and loveable with my darling,

but because i get my norplant removed, yep, cut out.. i am in a slight panic

ive had it for 3 years but the time has come (and what better day than valentines) to have it out and start trying for a family? me and my beautiful husband have been in talks for a while about a family,

(this is not my tummy, but i LOVE this...)

we realised that there is no good place to start, we'll never be 100% finacially stable, or ready, andwith twins skipping a generation on each side of the family, we might be in for more than we bargain for anyways!

I cant stop being nervous and i have no idea where this year is going to take me, maybe i am more nervous about that?

cupcake tuesday

There is a rule here in our home, be happy, smile and eat cake......

mainly because I love cake and I love to eat it, every week I make some sort of new cake from a wonderful book I have, it has the most wonderful recipe's inside like raspberry and coffee cupcakes and these wonderful little ones....

(yes those flowers are still alive!)

these are vanilla cupcakes with either hazelnut or lavender flavor cream cheese on top, they tasted scrumptious and were gone within a minute of being on the plate! I knew i should have made more than 16... will remember that for next time!

I also bought the most gorgeous frames today, I've been after oval frames for quite some time and finally got my little mittens on some!!

Aren't they the sweetest?!

i also got a bunch of vintage lace and little doileys, which are all tea stained and wonderful!
I will be using them this week to make something lovely i think,

I am working on a little drawing that i will be framing and putting up in the shop for sale, so check back for updates....

A stroll along the prom prom prom

'where the brass bands play tiddily ohhhm pom pommm......'

today was just wonderful...... we went to Scarborough beach with our friends justine and martin, we took a long walk along the sand and rocks, took lots of photo's and ate fish and chips.

how adorable are these beach huts?! and not to mention the fantastic colours, you can get changed in them during the summer and have a little frolic on the beach!
we walked all the way along the beach for miles, visited the arcades, had a go on the rides and ate candy floss, it was really nice the four of us....

I am behind the camera, down an 8ft drop......
we separated for a while, these guys went to the sea life center and me and my husband went rock pool hunting, we walked along all the rocks, along to the waterfall and spoke about life, it was really sweet, and we couldn't have had a better time...

we had such a great time I didn't want to come home, but now that I am home, I have a lovely cup of tea, and a cosy night in with my darling....

the beach is my most wonderful and favorite place in the world, i could not be more excited!!

freddies birthday fun...

Today was freddies birthday... if you read this blog often you'll know he is a wonderful boy that I look after along with his equally wonderful brother charlie.....

I made him a carrot cake with cream cheese on top and it went down a treat!

I made him a blue bunny too which he loved, thankfully.....and later he fell asleep with it in bed, which made my night! if there is a big enough demand i might put some up for sale in the shop, but we'll see, i do love them and have one that sits lovely in my studio:

we had canalonie for dinner and cake for desert, it was the yummiest food i've ever had, it was a gorgeous night and i managed to get a snap of the sky outside, it is the most stunning sky i have ever seen!! all the colours, it was beautiful!!

isnt it?!

i cant believe how beautiful it looked, and it was such a warm night, i even wore a dress! no more winter wellies for me!!

I had a lovely evening and I'll be really sad when the boys move in may, although i do plan to try and visit them a lot, if they stay in the UK, it would be lovely to see them grow up more...

well, i have to shoot off to bed, i have a fun packed day of work and trips to the park tomorrow,

PANCAKE DAY!! yum yum yum yum yum yum......

what better excuse do we need to eat pancakes than shrove tuesday?? i love it!! we made pancakes at work and taught them about shrove tuesday and then I had more at home, with golden syrup and jam! i know...... sugar overload! but it was sooo yummy!

he he it looks like a face which made the whole experience way more fun! i didnt toss it though.... the last time i did that it ended up wedged between the stove and the fridge! lol so i wont be trying it again....

Its been a while since I've been able to visit home, the castle, the town, my friends and family, and i miss them a lot, over the last few days i have been looking at some old photo's... and i found this print that i absoloutley adore (sbove for now because blogger hates me and wont let me move it )

it is an artist named Kelly Stewart, she displays and sells her designs every year in Edinburgh, not really sure if she has a website, I love her work and its all of home, so it means a lot to me, i miss home, a lot, i cant actually say how much,

I took it for granted a little while i was there, that wont happen again.......... ever!

simple saturdays...

today was wonderful! me and my husband took a trip to a little town not far from where we stay, there was a farmers market on in the town centre which sells eggs, vegetables, you know the stuff.... there was a teeny tiny craft fair on in the local town hall too.

we had a little nosey at everything and i came home with this gorgeous little bundle.....

East of india has to be a favourite company of mine, it has no website and only a few little local places stock their things... my favourite has to be the tape measure and the little red cross stitched heart ribbon, i'm so excited to use them!!

I also found this in a thrift shop :

i just adore stained glass, and its a whole window! i dont think i will actually fit it into a window but i have placed it ever so nicely on a raidiator just now, right where it catches light, i think its very pretty!

also... today, my husband managed to cut his nose... dont ask how, but isnt it the cutest little shape?! if you look upside down its a quirky little heart,

other than that we had our first quiet saturday with a lovely quiet sunday to follow......

cant wait to get my items all in my store, the update is as above 7pm, in scotland so around the afternoon sometime in the US, hope you all had as wonderful and quiet a day as i have, off to make more treats for my update... see you there!

warehouse wonderfuls

Today I went to the banana warehouse, Its one of my favourite places... you can dig inbetween vintage bikes, clothes, musical instruments, furniture and other random little things. I had a good rummage today and this is who I found.....

isnt she just wonderful!! she was lying on the floor under a hat and I paid the tiniest amount for her too, and i think she looks just adorable sitting at my window with my ribbon jar,

she has an adorable little plait in her hair and the cutest little ensemble and best of all.... Knee Socks! oh yes she does!

she has a little face that is all dirty and needs a little TLC.....

Also today, I downloaded some lovely fonts for my photoshop, it took me a while to figure it out but i managed it,

i have the cutest bookmark that she made me and it has my initial with beautiful little flowers all cross stitched... i love it.

But most importantly today I bought a sander.... oh yes I can use a power tool, my husband blew up the last one we had, I'll be doing my absoloute best to kick start my store this sunday with some wonderful treats for everyone,

Sweeney Todd opened this week in Scotland! I have been so excited to see it since the summer, so I got some front row seats! in the museum of childhood there is a little demon doll house with the barber shop and if you put in 5p you see him chop off the head, it roooolllls down the house and you see Mrs lovett making pie at the bottom, its complete with scary music and lights, i've always chosen to put my pennies in the demon barber over the musical merry go round.... anyways, we got there a little early, and it was like waiting for christmas, I couldnt sit still!

and WOW!!! I didnt think Mr Tim Burton could have pulled this one off but he did! the costumes and settings were amazing! i could not believe my eyes,

also the beautiful Johnny Depp singing, does anyone else think he has a david bowie sound to him?

Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman in one movie?! yum! i thought it was utterly fantastic! my husband fell asleep twice but he hasnt even been a musical fan....

also this week, I put my old flat up for sale, its finally finished and looking beautiful, all white a pretty, so hopefully someone will want to snap it up,

I found these darling little ribbons in my travels and thought they were fun!

if anyone can tell me where to get them in the UK i would much appreciate it! they made me smile today, so i though i would ad a little list of other things that make me smile and happy..... isnt the knit one just the best fun?

( this one has to be a favourite! i need to get some)

I have a list in my head.... its in no particular order, and changes everyday (if totally honest every 30 minutes)........ i ladore a lot of things and a lot of things make me smile, and have a little giggle to myself sometimes for no reason.

todays (this half hours) little ever changing list of hapiness is:

1. Burns night, how much haggis can one small person eat? its yummy and i love it!

2. Hugs, especially from my husband, and the 2 boys I look after (who are almost 2 and almost 4) it makes me feel that little bit more special,

3. sleeping, no more need be said

4. French ribbons, with cute little french phrases embroidered along them,

5. TEA, TEA oooh and more tea! i drink it all day, and i love it

6. my amazingly beautiful shoe collection, its ever growing and will soon take over our house

7. the fact that i have tiny little feet,UK size 3 sometimes 4, and can get a lot of shoes at a bargain on ebay,

8. Books, the last one i read made me laugh out loud on the train home and every one stared at me, i love that kind of book

9. blank paper, it makes me want to go get my paint and pencils and make something pretty

10. the sunshine, not that scotland has had any lately, and we have had a lot of wind, but fingers crossed we get some soon......

I havent properly updated for a while, i've been snowed under with work ( i have a full time job and nanny afterwards too) so i am pretty knackered most of the time. So this week, instead of updateing and having nothing to write i put some time aside and baked, painted and spent time with my husband, which was lovely :)

I made carrot cake, flapjacks and some beautifully yummy strawberry victoria sponge....

it was a little crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside, i had quite a large slice and it was scrumptious!!

I also made a little butternut squash soup, wth some chillies in it, which is now all gone, ( i cant seem to shift the photo to here just now) blogger often hates me,

tomorrow is my first day off from my job in a while, I am spending it updating, speaking to everyone and sewing, and of course.... eating haggis!!

well this weekend was a little dreadful....

I ended up having not only having flu, but conjuntivitis too!! which is not a good look, let me assure you!! but i did get something done, oh yes indeed!

i organised my wardrobe! it makes me feel calm and happy....... wouldn't you agree?

now i can look at all my pretty shoes and clothes anytime i like :)

sorry its a short one today, i'm off to organise my craft space, and try and feel better for work,

Today has been one of those awful days, where everything just builds up, and to make the day more eventful...... I have flu, i'm all bunged up and drinking smoothies, I dont like the cold weather at all.... not even a little bit, well I do like to wear my wellies but thats what the beach is for :)

but over the next few days my husband will take good care of me and make me feel all better, and make me the best cups of tea in the entire world...

And here is my new case... new for me, but infact vintage... i love it, and its a little place to store all my spare scissors, with my old photo album sitting nicely on top,

I recently joined Flickr... not really sure yet of what my flickr address is, anyone knows what it is feel free to let me know hehe :)

I joined a few groups. the etsy team and sew mama, and also self portrait tuesday, which i hope to be able to update every tuesday, so here is this weeks that I am about to post on flickr too...

Well today was lovely, my husband is going away tomorrow for a while with work so its nice to spend some time together doing absoloutley nothing at all.

We got the weekly shop done and we got these lovely flowers, I was gonna pick up some tulips but the only ones left were almost dead and the petals were all falling off, so I ended up with these ones, and I think they look lovely in the jug keith got me for my birthday.....

They brighten up the kitchen a lot! well I think so :)

Also, other news today... my lovely little kitten went outside for the first time today! she is only 14 weeks old and is the craziest thing you have ever seen, and loves to run up curtains, dig in my plant pots, and eats my socks, but she is so cute, you have to love her!

her markings make her look like she is wearing little shoes,

she is so adorable its unbelieveable,

anyways, i am off to sew some more, have a wonderful night

Tonight I am working like a elf on christmas eve,

hooooray for sony! finally, my lovely laptop is home where it belongs! My amelie soundtrack is in full swing and I now feel back to normal!

and that means... photo's since I can now upload some to my blog, including this one.....

This is a photo of my 2nd ever birthday cake ever! My birthday is on new years day and everyone always forgets it, but this year my wonderful husband made me this. It was his first ever baking experience ever!!! i am ever so proud of him!

Isnt it just so sweet?!

Anyways, my laptop is brilliant and now i can get working and get somethings into my shop,

a cup of tea and a boost of energy

My christmas holidays from my regular job are now over, my tree is packed in its little dark box, my paper snowflakes have been folded away and the fridge is back to the regular state of boredom, and today was my first day back at work, (nursery work) I love it i do....... working with children at such a young age.

I feel that some of the things I teach them will stay with them for life and shape them as the adult human being that they will become, the art work they do is wonderful, and watching them learn to walk and talk is fantastic, but I want to be able to persue my dreams of becoming a full time crafter on etsy. But as days go by it seems harder and harder.

So.. here goes.... as of today, think positive! Everything is possible and can be done, i just need to try and work that bit harder,

I want to teach myself to screen print at home and print some fabrics for my store... I have no idea where to start, but I will give it a go, if anyone has some tips on this feel free to email, I take all the help I can muster....

I would also love some fantastic little business cards made too, so i shall look into that tonight, but not getting too ahead of myself and first things first... get something in my shop and start the ball rolling, off to my studio with a lovely warm cup of tea...yummy yum yum!
